Time Goes By...

Hello one and all,

Did everyone enjoy their Thanksgiving weekend? Can you believe it has come and gone and it is December already? Where has the time gone? One minute we are wearing shorts & flip flops the next we are bundled up & wearing boots. How about a recap of my weekend?

Wednesday I was lucky enough to have no classes, so I took the morning to sleep in. Good thing I did because work was insane that night. I barely had time to think that night. I literally was running out of the pharmacy that night. I came home and watched some tv with my mom before crashing.

Thursday, Eleni (my sister) and I woke up early and curled up on the couch to watch the parade. It's actually quite hilarious because my sister and I can only watch the parade on NBC. It is probably because it has always been the way we do things, why change it now? After that my sister and mom took to the kitchen to begin dinner. I am not a cooker, never have been and very doubtful I will ever be. However, my sister really wanted to learn this year so her and my mom took over the kitchen. I spent the day stringing popcorn and watching different shows I had dvr'd recently. Once the dinner was ready we took to the dinner table and enjoyed dinner and conversation. Following dinner we cleaned up the kitchen and took a nap. We needed the power nap for the night of shopping. At about 9:30 we got ready for our shopping. We stopped by my aunt's to see very one before heading out towards the shops. We spent the night shopping and made it home about 5:30 am.

Friday, we slept in a little bit to let the stores slow down a bit. We headed out towards the mall for some  more shopping before our nail appointment. I didn't get any Christmas nails just yet, however the red and gold is coming soon. After our nail appointment we headed back to my aunt's house for some time with the cousins. My baby cousin is literally due any moment, I cannot wait to meet Baby Boo Boo (name is still up in the air). After that we came home and watched Divergent and strung more popcorn. I made a bad habit of not getting enough sleep this weekend, as I didn't go to bed until around 3 that night.

Saturday, I woke up bright and early to meet my cousin to take some amateur maternity photos. I am not sure how they turned out as I have yet to put them on the computer but I cannot wait to edit the photos. It will just have to wait until after finals in the coming weeks. After that I cam home and fell asleep on the couch. It was quiet in the house, so a nap on the couch was a must! After my nap I had to get ready for a night out with some friends. We finally went and seen Mockingjay Part One, OMG! I cannot wait for the next part. It was nice to be out with friends without any school worries. After that I came home and put on That Awkward Moment and worked on some papers for school. First of all my love for Zac Efron can go on for days! Second of all, the movie was hilarious are parts. Definitely made working on projects less painful.

Sunday was a day of laziness and dreading the real world. Final touches on school things and preparing for the last week of classes.

Wednesday should be my first of studying for finals post, so keep an eye out!

To be given another day...

I don't talk about my dad too much on here if at all. I have a hard time even four years later thinking about it. My dad passed away from complications of a heart attack four years ago today. My dad was a huge part of my life. He was my best friend. We hardly ever fought and I remember calling him after I met Nick Jonas the first time and he understood me completely. Because my dad and I were so close our pastor asked me to write something about my dad for his sevice so I'm going to include that below because it describes me and my dad to a t.

"Here is just a few things about my dad.

My dad wanted boys so he raised a little bit of boy in both my sister and I.

He taught Eleni and I everything he could about football and racing. Eleni and I were raised as Redskins fans but that only lasted long enough for both of us to gain our own opinions. Now he has me a Patriots fan and Eleni a Colts fan. Now to this day I love football and here in a week or two I'll still be watching knowing he's right there watching with me.

Though I am not a racing fan, I still would sit and watch the race with my dad whether he'd be watching with his eyes open or closed. Because even if his eyes were closed he knew everything that was going on.

My dad taught both Eleni and I how to throw a punch and how to take one. That backfired on him when he wanted to play around with Eleni and I. He received many bruises from Eleni and I. It's what we did, we play fought. There were many times where Daddy would have to quit because he taught Eleni and I how to throw a punch a little too well.

My dad to everyone else was Ray the boy who grew up on the hill. But what everyone else didn't see was my Daddy. He was the one who passed out before I was even born. He was the one who while sleeping Mama and I put hairbows in his hair. He was the one who had to buy me Achy Breaky Heart on cassette because he cut it off and I threw such a tantrum it was the only way to make me stop. He was the one who taught me everything I know about sports. He made sure my grades were to par because he wanted better for me and he wanted to make sure he had something to brag about. He was the one who in the middle of the night would go to every room and check on us. He could tell you where Eleni or I slept and where each cat and the dog was. He was my Daddy and nobody will never be another him.

I'm sorry that so many people never knew the same person I knew because you knew a great guy but I knew greater guy, Ray, the dad."

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of my dad. There will probably never be one either. So go hug your dads for me today.

Weekend Recap

Monday is upon us again. How was everyone's weekend? I definitely enjoyed a jam packed weekend. Spending time with friends and family is always fun.

Saturday:

There is nothing like shopping when you don't buy anything. We don't have a Hobby Lobby or a Kirkland's where I live so we have to plan going to these places. So, my mom and I drove to the closest locations and we window shopped. Finding nothing to buy is quite sad, however I did purchase some spray paint for some old chairs that I bought a couple of months ago. I want to repurpose them and use them as plant holders outside. I hope to do that next weekend, so once they are done I'll post the project.

After doing some shopping my mom and I met up with my sister to get our nails done. I love going onto Pinterest and finding crazy nail designs and having my favorite nail tech do them. She is amazing! I got a fun animal print nail design.

Sunday:

Sunday I got to spend the day with friends. My friends and I grabbed some Mexican for lunch and wend to the movies. I love Mexican food, especially when its good and cheap! We have several really good Mexican restaurants where I live. After lunch we went to see Neighbors. Oh my gosh, Seth Rogan and Zac Efron together are HILARIOUS. The movie is funny and had its vulgar spots. However, there were two older ladies, probably older than my Grandma, and I am not sure why they were seeing this movie. Maybe they had a thing for Zac Efron, but who could blame them?

I finished the night out with the Billboard Music Awards. I love nothing more than a music awards show. You get to see performers do something different and sometimes one of their best performances. I enjoyed seeing 5SOS performing on TV for the first time, then Florida Georgia Line performed as well and I love them! Jennifer Lopez has successfully infused my brain with her new single, First Love.  If you haven't heard it, you should listen to it.

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! Only four more days until Friday and it's a holiday weekend!
